Sierra Carlson is an emerging flute performing artist and private instructor of the DFW area. She has over ten years of experience in flute performance, four years in piccolo performance, and five years in private instruction. Between 2015 and 2018, Ms. Carlson achieved annual Superior Ratings in the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Competition, and received the Outstanding Performer Award within the competition in 2018. She is also a John Philip Sousa Award recipient in recognition of her inspiring leadership skills as a young musician. Ms. Carlson currently attends Southern Methodist University, where she is pursuing a B.A. in Music with focuses in flute performance and music theory. She currently studies with the renowned Dallas musicians Jean Garver and Deborah Baron, and she teaches beginner-intermediate level students.
