Will Upham

Voice Instructor

Originally from Bedford, Indiana, Will Upham, tenor, is a second-year graduate student studying Vocal Performance at Southern Methodist University with Professor Clifton Forbis. He recently graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance and a minor in Political Science. Will is the current Opera Manager for the SMU Meadows Lyric Theatre and a member of the SMU Meadows Chamber Singers. He is also an Education Artist at The Dallas Opera where he is currently portraying the role of Nemorino in Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love.

Now 23 years old, Will is relatively new to teaching, but he’s very confident in his abilities. For the past year, he has taught four high school students from his hometown via Zoom and helped them find more vocal freedom and success in auditions and competitions. Will is looking forward to working with students from the Dallas area and gaining more teaching experience
